Franky used to be known as Cutty Flam and was a renowned ship builder, after suffering a grievous injury he rebuilt himself as a cyborg with many hidden abilities. When he first meets the Straw Hat Crew they have an antagonistic relationship but they are soon forced to work together. After earning Franky's respect, he builds the crew a new ship, the Thousand Sunny, and joins them on their adventure.
